Recently, Louise McCabe, an agent from our Wilkes-Barre location took a cruise to Bermuda aboard Celebrity Cruise Lines’ newly “Solsticized” Summit and would like to share her thoughts on the trip.
Before boarding I knew what to expect from Celebrity as a cruise line; sophistication, yet comfort for all. It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, single or a couple, or even travelling with family of all ages, Celebrity has something for everyone and the entertainment and service is always first-class.
With the Summit recently being “Solsticized” I knew there would be new places to see aboard. With the renovations came new public areas such as the Martini Bar and new dining options. The new Bistro on 5 is a great spot for casual dining and is open for all meals, offering pancake specials at breakfast, and soups, sandwiches and paninis for lunch and dinner. The main dining room was beautiful and had a wide variety of cuisine options. The presentation of the food was also fantastic making the food art in itself. I had a “Personal Dine”, but realized even with the flexible dining schedule it is still best to reserve a dining time.
The Summit also boasts a state of the art spa and fitness center which offers work out classes to stay fit and healthy while on the ship. While aboard, you expect to see a pool and maybe a few hot tubs, but the Summit also has a Therapy Pool. How relaxing is that?
The island of Bermuda is one of my favorites; very safe and always very scenic. Traveling by myself this cruise, I felt very safe and enjoyed the island even though I was not traveling with anyone. Meeting new people while dinning and at the pool each day was great and the other travelers were very friendly.
The trip overall was very enjoyable, but the highlight of my trip was definitely dining at the Captain’s Table!!! I loved it!
I would highly recommend this itinerary and ship to everyone! Families, couples, singles, and all-ages family reunions.
